this is a silver and gold dutch buckle i think for 1848 ?? but i don't know this maker, can you help me the letters mark are WD sorry for my english ?? thanks

Hi Bubu,

Your English is perfect. Yes, I believe date letter O for 1848, the maker’s mark; a square with W D between two dots for; Cornelis Wendels, registered in the city of Middelburg, date entry 1828/1849. The Minerva head or Assay office mark should show the letter L in its helmet for Middelburg.
