Inkwell Identification

Hi...

I have two Inkwells that I would like to know more about. I have figured out they are Birmingham but cannot be sure of the date marks or the numbers that follow. Here are some pics. I did the best I could ; ) They both have the lion and anchor then a letter (date?) They both say sterling with each having a number: S1946 with a crescent moon, and S2585 with a symbol I cant make out. Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks Pat...that answers the mystery...they are definitely Gorham. The anchor threw me off! So the one with the half moon should be 1895. The other would be around the same period but the symbol is really faint, if I had to guess I would say it is 1904-5, but I cant be sure.

Believe the "S" prefix on Gorham's silver-mounted glassware was only used from the early 1890s until 1898, changing to "D" at that point - perhaps if it resembles the 1904 lyre, it might instead be the 1897 trident?
