I believe it is supposed to be an early Dutch mark with the Amsterdam and .875 marks. Don't know about the maker or year.

Checked further, could be Samuel Carel Hendrik Warneke, 1779 - 1807.

Dutch date letters did not become uniform until 1808 and although I don't have a chart for Amsterdam date letters I believe the 'S' occured in 1777 and again in 1802. If Warneke is the maker, then I guess the date letter must be for 1802.

Thank you very much for your helps, so quickly, very kindly.
I found some similary references, which said this is a hallmark of Anvers (Dutch) maybe in 1607, but I'm not sure ot this, what do you think about this?

Thanks,

Vic

Hi dk11 and dognose,

These marks look like pseudomarks to me. This Amsterdam townmark is not used in the days of C. Warneke and the dateletter S (should be 1801, in any case not 1776/1777) I have my doubts about. My advice: test for silvercontent.

Regards,

Zilverik
