Hi Karen ~ I've just played with way too much late 19th-early 20th century American silver for way too long - knew your piece on sight (the memory is working today LOL). Rainwater, I prefer the 4th edition, is a must for marks, but my two "go-to" references for patterns are Turner's American Silver Flatware, 1837-1910 and my old 1970s copy of the JCK Sterling Flatware Index. There are some other good references out there, but those two were my first, very well-used and familiar. I even carefully taped the pages of the JCK Index back together after a rescued Aussie pup decided it would make a great chew-toy.....loose-leaf format, found the mangled pages strewn all around the house.
