Nobody seems to have thougt of the most obvios. Joseph Kopf had an engravery department. The spoon was surely made and punched in S:t Petersburg 1908. In 1928 a monogram was engraved by Kopfs engravarydepartment. Therefore punched again with Kopfs mark "I.Kopf.".
As far as we know Kopf never had a workshop in Petersburg. But he worked there as "Gesälle" and got his mastertitel there.
The estonian germans left Estonia mainly in november 1939, after the german assault on Poland.
The archives were in Germany during sovjet time but returned, as far as I know, to Tallinn (Reval) after the liberation of Estonia.
