Silver ring

Can anyone help me with this very tatty ring? It could be old or there again something cheap from the 70s. I hope that I have now attached a photo. The only marks I can see are SIL and 901.

Any chance that the 901 can be read 9CT?

I have had a good look and I don't think so. I have ordered a new magnifying glass maybe that will shed a bit more light.
