Entered a mark as bucklemaker on 9th January 1776 at 237, High Holborn, Bloomsbury. He was preceeded at that address by Alexander Glass who had entered a mark 23 June 1775 and then perhaps went to Durham
Seven days later after registering his mark Samuel married Mary Hill, spinster , on 16th January 1776), at St Brides, Fleet Street ,both partners being of that parish. As a Thomas Hill was witness to her subsequent marriage (as widow) to William Yardley in 1780 it is possible that she may be a close relative of Thomas Hill, the bucklemaker, his first mark being 1788 in 9, Baldwins Gardens very close to High Holborn, although subsequent addresses were all in Clerkenwell. That Thomas Hill was a witness to the will of Samuel Beedall in 1780 supports the possible family connection and a Mr Hill was partner to William Yardley until 1810, although from when is unknown. (29 May 1811- The Proceedings of the Old Bailey Ref: t18110529-77 )
In the summer of 1777 Beedal moved to Thorney Street, (prob No 2/3,) and remained there until his death in early 1780 (Leslie Southwick " London Silver Hilted Swords and their Makers" - page 262)
His insurance (1778 SUN 1 266 20\09\79 BN Policy Number 400080 ) gives him as silversmith, the value insured of £1500 and the address as 5 Thorney Street
His will, witnessed by Thomas Hill was made 15th February, " being sick and weak in body" and proved 17th March 1780, left everything to his wife Mary .
Mary promptly entered a joint mark with William Yardley on 22nd March 1780 and she married him a month later on 30th April 1780 , Thomas Hill and John Padmore being witnesses . John may have been a relative of George Padmore, another silver bucklemaker
