Unfortunately, there are too many Nuernberg hallmarks on items made in the beginning of 20th century. (See Hanau hallmarks). The market demanded ``Historismus`` silver.Naturally, Augsburg and Nuernberg hallmarks were commonly used. I have seen two identical cups in Vienna offered in two different antique shops, one hallmarked with N for Nuernberg and the other with the acorn for Augsburg. Genuine German Renaissance silver costs a fortune and it rarely appears on market. If that salt cellar or centerpiece (I cannot tell the size of it) is genuine you better sell it and retire immediately, no matter how old you are.
