Info on Imperial Russian era Silverplate Vase appreciated

Post by LeeS »

Hello,

I have a large repousse' Silverplate Vase (assume that it is a vase by shape) with a series of Imperial era Russian hallmarks and what appears to be a family crest on the front. There are no other identifying marks/stamps on the vase. The high points of the decoration have been worn by polishing where the underlying copper shows.

I was hoping to learn more about it.

It is about 12" tall. I can make out the impreial double-headed eagle stamp (2nd from left) and what may be a simplified Imperial eagel to it's right that I thought might be a city mark. The stamp to the right of that is a man's head facing left. what perhaps is the reigning Czar. I cannot identify the stamps on either end. The leftmost looks like it is some form of a capitol "B" but is smudged. The rightmost looks like a script "h".

The repousse' sheild on the vase's face is either a winged Griffon rampant, or Dragon with the shield flanked by the same animal on both sides. On top there appears to be dove resting on a cornucopia. Any idea which family/State/city/ or ???? this might represent.

image of stamps and views of the vase below. I tried to make them small enought o keep from hogging bandwith bui large enough for decent quality. Please let me know if they need to be modified and I wil resize them as required.

Thank You for any additional information.
