Help with Bird Marking - Japanese Jungin? - Meiji Period?

Postby sadavidas » Thu Nov 25, 2010 11:26 pm

I ran across a piece with rhis mark, I do not have a great camera and it is the best that I could get. One mark looks like it could be the "Jungin" mark for pure silver during the "Meiji" period in Japan. The other is a bird and I could not find out anything about it.

Here is another pic in different lighting if it helps.

Any confirmation on if this is a "jungin" mark or any information on the bird marking would be very appreciated.

Thank you very much in advance.

hi. I can confirm it is "Jungin" in Japanese. The swallow mark is the maker's mark or period mark?
