925 Silver Bracelet Initial Mark M & Backwards C ?

Hi! I believe I've seen this one before also but now I can't find it! Anyone got any ideas?

I scanned eleven pages of trademark images on the USPTO site to find this: MARSALA MANUFACTURING CO. CORPORATION OHIO 1144 GOODALE BOULEVARD COLUMBUS OHIO 43212. The mark was first used in 1987 and is still in use.

You're welcome. Just because it's kind of interestingt, that "C" is actually just a curled line according to the record.

There is a pair of Marsala earrings on eBay right now. The M with a curly que mark does not look like the "CW" you see on this piece. I believe it is CW based on my research. Take a look at the eBay listing under the search "Marsala" in the Jewelry category. Why would they change the way it looks if this is their hallmark?

BTW, I have a pair of marcasite/garnet earrings which also look vintage with the CW mark. It looks the same as this CW.

Silverly, you are such a gentleman. A belated thank you for your thorough and well-presented information. It is now March 2014 and your excellent information added wonderfully to this future. Exactly what I was looking for.

I fully appreciate the upside down reading of the "CW" as I started that way myself. Then I realized the silver would be rated 526 if that were the case, lol, so I flipped it to find "MD" first and then "Mo," except the "o" looked weird till I saw the swirl, and found your post identifying it.

Just FYI, recently there were two listings on eBay for identical marcasite bracelets, one stating it is signed "MD" (I understand!), and one stating it is brand new and signed Marsala Manufacturing Co. I won the auction for the one signed "MD," except, of course, it is really the Marsala swirled-c mark and I paid less than the other is charging. Score!
