Help identifying maker's mark CIA 1784

Hi everyone,

I have an 18th century salt or condiment pot with a blue glass liner. It has marks for London 1784 but I cannot find the maker's mark anywhere. It looks like CIA or possibly CTA (please see the photos). Can anyone help me?

Looking closely at the Duty mark, it seems that the punch does not have the usual cartouche of the incuse George III. Indeed it seems to be in totally different punch. The Leoparts Head also looks wrong.
Could just be abnormal wear but this may be a set of colonial makers pseudo marks .

However, I'm not convinced about the colonial theory. The incuse duty mark looks right to me, apart from there is no cartouche. I have seen worn George III leopard's (leopart's) head marks that look very similar to this one. But perhaps the most important clue is that the date letter matches the incuse duty mark. I believe this mark was only used between 1784 and 1786. Would a colonial silversmith bother to get that right? It seems unlikely to me but I would be happy to be proved wrong.

lt looks to me like an overstamp on the makers name, look at the bottom of the C
