Durgin?

Postby tr888 » Wed Jul 07, 2010 9:46 am

The mark is an upper-case cursive D. The letter has a narrow belly, and two loops. The D is embossed on a shallow oval scoop. To the right of the mark on the stem are the engraved block letters STERLING PAT' D M

It looks like the Wm B Durgin Co mark here:

The loops are slightly different but the notch in the belly of the D is the same.

Is it a clear match for Durgin?

Sorry that the picture is upside-down. When I rotate it clockwise in Windows Picture Viewer, the engraving turns to embossing and the embossing becomes engraving. Weird.

it's a Durgin mark, and just as a note, if a full picture of an item is posted it can be of considerable assistance in affirming the manufacturer.
