Birmingham Gold mark - identify "J H"

I have a signet ring which sadly I cannot date exactly as the date letter has been removed from resizing/wear. please could someone identify the maker/sponsor and thus give me the dates of operation or history of the maker?

I'm not shure: John Hill; mark registered in February 1901.

More then mark's picture, name and date aren't mentioned there - so it must be hold in mind actually, that they maybe haven't made rings?
