1) Jean-Baptiste Duron: goldsmith/flatware maker at 11 rue de Caire, Paris. Mark: J. B. Duron with a cul-de-lampe, registered 1798/99, renewed 1801 & 1806, no cancellation date, still listed 1812.
2) Gabriel Gerbu, père: goldsmith/flatware maker at 12 Quai d'Ecole, Paris. Master (before the Revolution) on 23 Feb 1782. Mark: GG, a butterfly above & a rosette below, registered 1798, no cancellation date, still listed 1812.

Both were good, prolific makers of flatware.

I thank you blakstone.
In a time of rising silver price, many people take their old family silver and take it to the silver acquisitions.
I myself had the opportunity now to a collector stocks search and found these old spoons and forks, which would have landed in the melting pot, if I had not previously exchanged.
It's all terribly and I do not even know what is lost every day to work the old silversmiths forever. I hope that this Forum will contribute, among other things, that people are aware of and discover the value of silverware, instead of focusing on investment coins.

This marks are not in Toms Encyclopedia.

Its for You Tom. ;-)
