Help ID these teapots and marks

Postby Sven1 » Thu Apr 29, 2010 7:02 pm

Mother-in-law picked these up at a silent auction.
We don't have a clue as to what the marks, country of origin and if these are silver or silverplate.

Can you please help us?

Father-in-law pulled out a magnifying glass and drew the hallmark.
Hope this helps

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

As soon as I saw the name 'Veyrat' I thought I had the answer, but now I'm not so sure.

A. Veyrat - Paris - 1878

As can be seen their silverplate mark, on the left of this 1878 advertisement, is a different one, or maybe they just changed the design. Hopefully someone will have the answer.

Hello.

Jean-Francois Veyrat silverplate marks.

I think Trev's Veyrat is the son Aldolphe who took over around 1840

There was also an Auguste Veyrat who registered a silverplate mark in 1861.
Also another Veyrat, Gustave Veyrat, 1894 -1911.

Your guess is as good as mine.
I'm thinking Sven1's mark is either Auguste or Gustave.

Pat.
