unknow mark "HOFER" - probably Southern Germany

Does anyone know this mark? The object would probably be made in southern Germany. Probably 1825/1850.

Sorry, no Hofer in Schefflers: Niedersachsen, Hessen, Berlin, Mittel-& Norddeutschland, Main & Neckar

there are some makers with the name Höffner, one of them in Mainz.
