Some images of what may be the rarely seen work of the Dublin silversmith Francis Hull.

This nutmeg grater was assayed at Dublin in 1808 and is struck with the maker's mark 'F.H' cotained within an oval. Francis Hull is the only name that I can make fit as the maker. Hull is recorded in Jacksons on page 695 as a watchcasemaker noted in a directory of 1808 and again on page 700 as submitting work to the Dublin office for assay in 1809.

There was in 1821, a watchmaker recorded in Liverpool by the name of Francis Hull, perhaps to be identified with the Dublin namesake.
