18th Century Scissor-Action Sugar Nips - Maker's Mark

Postby SimonJersey » Thu Mar 18, 2010 1:44 pm

Hello All

I have a pair of Georgian Sugar Nips - which are not in the best of conditions - they have been heavily repaired but please would anybody be able to identify the maker and a possible date (I'm guessing around 1760?). They bear the Lion Passant and the Makers Mark on each finger ring. It does look like there is a "W" in the makers mark.

I do apologise for the dreadful photo taking of the marks (!)

Hi Trev
Thanks for the info, it could be an unrecorded or lost cursive mark of William Harrison (or one of the other many smallworkers)
Thank you
