The collection includes secular goldsmiths' work, including the guild silver with its significant Deposita approximately 1,000 objects, about two thirds of them are formed in Basle, with the rest being mainly the work from the southern and southwestern Germany, and the Upper Rhine and Swiss centers of gold forged art: notably represented are the cities of Augsburg, Nuremberg, Strasbourg and Zurich.
