Urn w/snail handles Star mark

Postby imnideit » Sun Feb 07, 2010 10:58 pm

Pentagram like mark with another hallmark with intertwined letters.
Vase has snail handles, all hand wrought, hope it's old but is very clean.
Only 2 3/8 inches tall.
Do any of you know who made this and how old?
ps: sorry mark pic isn't better, it's SO tiny.
Thank you for all your help,
t

Hello imnideit,

it is a spanish mark. Look here:
www.925-1000.com/foreign_marks.html

"Pentagram is a quality mark indicating a minimum of .915 purity, it is usually accompanied by a maker's mark in a hexagonal stamp"

The makers mark I do not know.

Kind regards,
Ringo

A topic that's worth a bump.

Any thoughts?
