Postby luv2learn » Sun Dec 20, 2009 12:00 am

Hi and Thank You's to All-Happy Holidays! I just got this item today, and it has only 1 mark on it and that it "800" on the bottom. This is one of those items that I don't even know where to begin to research it, and so I came to the place of numerous experts for some help.
It is 2 7/8"Tall, top diameter is 1 5/8", bottom diameter is 1 1/4" and weighs 1.2 ozs.
I appreciate any and all help on this one~as I am totally lost on this one...Many Thanks

Hi,
Stumbled across the identical item, I've included a pics of its only mark from a couple of different angles. It may be badly made and badly stamped 800 mark, but I'm not sure about that. Not absolutely sure that it is a posy holder, if so, it is certainly a different form than I'm used to seeing.

Regards, Tom

Stumped 800 Silver Item W/Chain

Postby luv2learn » Mon Feb 15, 2010 5:26 pm

You are awesome finding one similar to mine. I asked someone else about this and 1 person said posy holder. From a link that I can't find now there was a site that stated: "Some examples have, attached by a chain, a finger-ring for use when held by hand." When I read 'finger-ring" I think just one finger, but holding it with several fingers, it just might work? What do you think? Did the pics you posted imply anything?

Thank you for your help!
