Mark on Sterling Dish w/Cover Cellini & BSC

Hi,
Can anyone help identify this dish and mark. The dish measures 10" in diameter and has a cover that has holes in it. The tray is marked; Sterling, Cellini, 2100 and has a box with BSC inside. The lid is unmarked but has the same pattern as the tray. Thank you for your time and attention on my behalf.

Hello and welcome.

I think that is a Barbour Silver Company mark when they were a division of the International Silver Company.
International retired the Barbour trademark around 1931.



Seems to be disagreement about this attribution.
Can't remember off hand what the other possibility was.

Thank you, Pat, for the information. My other question is 'what was the dish was used for? and does it have a name? I thought maybe bread because of the holes but I really don't know. Any ideas?

Looks like a covered muffin dish. The holes would allow the steam from the muffins to escape and not collect on the top of the dome and then drop back onto the muffins. Because no one likes soggy muffins, you know!
