german silver cuttlery; cannot identify maker

Postby Mariana Masson » Sun Nov 29, 2009 5:54 pm

http://picasaweb.google.com.br/marianamasson/Cuttlery

You will see 4 marks

1- decimal 935;
2- city mark - apparently Stuttgart. To be confirmed;
3- the crown and the crescent moon, identifying it as a German piece; and
4- apparently the maker mark, where you can see the letter "W" and just above a non identified symbol.

We would like to confirm origin and maker.

Thanks

Hi Mariana and welcome to the forum,

The maker is Lutz & Weiss (LW) founded in 1882 in Pforzheim, Germany and made after 1888.

Hope this helps,
