Both "STERLING" and "NORWAY" indicates that it's made after 1945, but not so much later by the way it looks. 1945-1950 is my estimate.
There was a goldsmith called Rasmus Hestenes who started a business in Nordfjordeid, Norway in 1910. His son took over in 1950, and started to sell radios and other electrical appliances as well as silver and jewellery.
Maker would be Kristian Hestenes of Bergen, Norway. Haven't tracked down dates yet, but the firm seems to have been working from the early 1900s into at least the 1950s-60s.
It's the same company, as far as I understand. Kristian Hestenes was born in 1876 and died in 1929 and founded the company R. Hestenes. The company still exists today in Nordfjordeid.
Hi all . I have seen two Hestenes marks , One is Hestenes , and the other is two series of dots above and below a chevron , I am wondering which is the earliest . I have also seen the later on items made by Norsk Monster . Any info would be much appreciated .
