Why Margrete cup?

Can you help me to understand, why those cups calling as
"Margrete" cups?
What was this used for?

Hi Denis,

I can't help much, except to say that I have never seen one that was not of Danish manufacture. I presume this style of piece was named after Queen Margrete, the first female monarch of Denmark.

Hopefully someone from Denmark can give a more precise answer.

Design was made due to the fact that Magrethe was afraid to get poisened. Therefore her 7 chambemaids tested the wine before Magrethe drank. So they did not drink of the same spot - this design was made.
