Candle Snuffer Maker - can anyone assist?

This is a nice guillotine snuffer with a fairly clear set of marks which I've been unable to identify - I'd appreciate some advice!

Are the marks on the tray and the snuffer and would it be possible to post a sharper view of the mark? The symbol does not seem to relate to a registered platers mark although a better reading of the gothic font might help with the maker.
