Please Help Identifying this large piece

Hi, I have no idea what this piece is. It appears to be a large pot with a tall cone shaped cover, which is pierced. I am guessing it is a heater or something with coals etc in the pot portion. I was also told it might be a Jewish Religious piece, any ideas ?? It stands 24 inches ( 61 cm.) not counting the handle, quite large ! Thanks, Joanie :o)

Hi joanst,

It looks like a Moroccan serving tagine / tajine made in plate. They are normally seen as clay pots.
