unknown city mark

Postby R ingo » Wed Jul 29, 2009 8:49 am

Hello,
I have a question again.
I have a spoon, likely from the 2. half of the 18. century or the beginning of the 19. century with a (for me) unknown city mark. Some older marks of the cities of Ulm, Münster or Zug in Switzerland looks a little similar. But I am not convinced.
The makers mark is FID.

I would be happy about informations, how old the spoon is and where it was made.

Thanks and kind Regards,

Ringo

No, definitely Münster. The maker is Franz Joseph Dieninck (1744-1827), apprenticed 1757-63, Master 1771. The ca. 1800 date is correct, though.
