San Rovan Lan Rovan piovani Giovani? sterling marked basket

Hi, I purchased a small but heavy silver basket at an estate sale and I cannot determine the mark and have not been able to find any similar one. The basket is marked on the bottom, STERLING, then under that is a signature in fluid script that starts with an obscured three letter mark that might be an abbreviation and could be Cd with a smaller m at the end or Edm then Lan or San followed by Rovan or Rovani or Piovani or Giovani. I am not sure about the i at the end.

Could it be (Edward?) San Giovanni? Seen this mark on American handmade silver from the 30´s and 40´s, but have never tracked down the maker.
