What-is-it question CXXXVII.

This late 19th century silver-gilt piece has champleve enameling.
These vary in size. It is not unusual to see one 17.75 inches ( 45 cm.) high.
What country is it from and what is it called.

Hi Trev.

Well done. Yes, it is a Russian Samovar.
This is a great looking example, so I thought I would share it.

In case anyone is wondering, not all Samovars had a method of keeping the water hot.
