Can anyone identify the maker V.S on the base of this Dutch silver tabatière made to commemorate the destruction of Reims Cathedral in 1914? I tried the Dutch search engine linked to on this site and the only found one VS mark (Vos & Schoorl) though the mark is different from this one.

Also is the letter A in the Minerva head duty mark for Amsterdam? I haven't found a list of Dutch assay office marks.

The London import marks on the inside lip of the base are for Richard Burbridge, Harrod's, 1915.

Hi,

You were not so far off. It is Vos & Co., Haarlem 1915-1919. Vos, Schoorl and their different associates made many items in this style.
The item was essayed in Amsterdam.
