Fillegree brooch. Need help to ID country, age, maker.

Post by vasyapupkin0 »

I have a question for you, experts. I can't precisely identify the origin and date range of this pin/brooch. Possibly Norwegian. Stamped "830" then "S" followed by a ")0("-looking symbol (it may also resemble a left-facing crescent moon and a right-facing crescent moon joined together by an vertical oval; or it may appear as a butterfly-like symbol).

Any help would be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

well it's definatley Norwegian - it's a "solje" which is part of Norwegian traditional dress.

don't know the maker though

Thanks so much for confirming! I'll be listing another odd silver marked piece in the European Silver, Other Countries section.
