Interesting Antique Coin?? Holder Chester Sterling

Postby pebbles » Mon Sep 29, 2008 11:21 am

Hello,
I have an interesting pendant holder for something. It looks like it belonged to a chatelaine. It is hallmarked with Lion Passant, symbol for Chester and and letter date G for 1907.
At first, I thought it was a coin holder. But this one does not have circular holders for the coins. It measures 1.75" by 1.2". The slots are about 3/4" wide, so it doesn't fit a quarter. Does anyone know is what is this and what is this used for?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

The clue is in the shape of the box itself, it's for postage stamps.
