This sterling silver item is hallmarked Birmingham 1935.
Estimate the length at about 2.5 inches ( 6.35 cm.).
What was it used for ?

Hi Cheryl.

No, it's not a lemon juicer.
This item has nothing to do with food.

Wrere it bigger I would say a posie holder, but its diminutative size says a lapel vase for a dandy's buttonier.

Hi,

Agree, just the sort of thing Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot would wear.

Hi everyone.

Cheryl, my book does not provide a picture of the bottom.
I assumed it was closed, but am not sure.

JLDoggett, lapel vase is close enough for me, well done.
Book calls it a buttonhole flower holder.
Some lapel vases are attached to the lapel with a pin and not pushed through the buttonhole.
