TOWLE SILVERPLATE

I have been looking at a Towle silverplated tea set that is supposed to be 40 to 50 years old. What kind of metal do you think the silver plating is over. Could it be copper or brass or maybe even steel.

When I worked for them in the 70's they were plating on brass.
