unidentified silver(plate) mark

Postby Kim21 » Wed Jul 30, 2008 6:07 am

Hello,

I registered myself to this forum today, and I want to introduce myself. I'm Kim and I'm 34 years old. I live in the Netherlands in Helmond. I'm married and have 3 children. I'm interested in antiques. I love to collect things on Antiquemarkets, for example in France.

I found this forum when I was looking on the internet for a silver(plate) mark I wasn't able to identify. I bought 4 items in France, knife standards (I don't know exactly how to call this in english). I think it is silverplated. The standards are marked with an anchor and initials, I think an A and F (see photo).

Can anyone identify this mark?

greetings Kim

Hello Kim-

I think you will enjoy this forum, I sure do, its great being able to meet people such as yourself from all areas of the world. Your item in English is called a knife rest. Great to meet you and welcome to the forum.

Regards-

Byron

Thanks for your comments! Now I know the maker's mark in my knife rests (and how you call it in english, thanks Byron). I'd never heard of Armand Frenais before, so it is nice to read the information about him in the topic from november 2007.

greetings Kim
