Unusual tea tongs

Postby Granmaa » Tue Jul 15, 2008 12:44 pm

I should like to hear anything that anybody knows about these tongs which have a design I have never seen before; I assume they're from the Rococo period.
There are no marks except the one pictured, which may be IB or may be nothing at all.

Hi Miles......I reckon if silver they are c1750-60 and if plate, late Victorian copy. If silver and of the period....lovely....great pattern and design.
Take care, Best wishes, Mike.

Thanks Mike; they are definitely silver.

I was worried because I have never seen a design quite like this, the large bowls/pads especially.
