Sugar & Creamer from INDIA but unknown "K" Mar

With so many watchful eyes, maybe one of you can help me. This Sugar & Creamer set is marked from India. The EPNS shows me it's Silverplated, but the mark has me confused. On each side f the "K" there seems to be some sort of writing possibly. The marks don't look like any specific design. The Items stand approx. 3 1/2 - 4" tall. The Creamer has 3 feet and the Covered Sugar Bowl is on 4.
I've searched everywhere from INDIA to the "K" Mark, but I don't see this one in particular.
Any clues will be greatly appreaciated. Thanks.

Hi Peggy-

I can't help with the maker, but the marks are not writing. They are fleur-de-lis symbols (iris' or lilly's), mainly of the French monarchy. You can google it and find all kinds of answers.

Hello.
An American company used that mark.
Kent Silversmiths, New York City, were importers, distributors and manufacturers of silverplate, sterling and pewter.
Founded in 1936. Might still be in business, not sure.

I've checked into the symbol as you mentioned and I am still having a hard time finding anything in French with the letter "K" or those fleur signs. When I checked for French Silverplated Makers Marks, I see lists of everything it seems, but "K" initials or even those symbols! - LOL
Thanks for trying, I'm putting them aside. I have a feeling there's quite a story that went along with these. They were donated to us at the church from an estate that divided items between our church and the Historical Society, and so my lessons begin! Thanks again I really appreciated that info, and France is where I'm going to keep looking.

Thank You Patrick. I'll check more into that also. I've seen initials "close" to that specific K, but none identical. It will be another avenue I check down! All leads I do follow! If you were able to find it in NY for.... possibly "Kent", then I wonder why it's not showing up in the Encyclopedia of Silver Marks. I usually check that site, among others, first before useing the need to post photos for help! I'm stubborn and really prefer to find this myself, but I also know when to ask.
I've been looking for over a week now, so it was time.

If I mislead you towards France, I appologize. As Pat stated your mark is of the Kent Silversmiths company, manufacturers and importers founded in New York; now in Taunton, Ma. Your set was imported by them to the United States from India. Here is a link about the Fleur-De-Lis that explains the origin and how it's use has spread worldwide.

Unless there is a makers mark you have not posted, it would be near impossible to know who made it.

Thank You very much Byron, I was going to shelf this but now you got me wanting to do more digging once again! I have 2 links to the only markings on the items, somehow the photos go to this "photobucket" and I'm still trying to figure out how to use it, sorry if they didn't come out.
