Queen City Silver marking

Can any assist me with the age of a teapot, creamer and suger with the Queen City Silver hallmark in my picture? Note the 999 in the hallmark, what does this mean? Is this a silver piece or silverplate? Thanks for your help.

Hi Jaaron-

I do not know what the 999 refers to, somebody here with more knowledge than I might be able to answer this question. Just to help a little, "Quadruple" is often used with silverplated items. Queen city silver is shown here as being in business from 1888 to 1949 with two differing marks, once again I will wait as you do to let someone more experienced to define the two date wise. Hello and welcome.

The Queen City Silver Company produced silverplated holloware.
The 999 refers to the fineness of the silver used to coat the base metal in the electroplating process.
The terms quadruple plate and quadruple silver were seldom used on American silverplate after 1912.
