830 S plus 3 crowns hallmark?

Postby kukutoo » Mon Jun 02, 2008 10:32 pm

This is a bracelet that I have. I have been reading and am wondering if I am getting close. The 830 S is a mark from Denmark? Also called Coin silver?
But when I check on 3 Crowns mark, it seems to be Swedish?

This also appears to have a gold wash, and it weighs 24.9 grams.

Thank you for any help you can give me.

Hello,
Both Denmark and Norway stamp their silver with 830S which means that it contains 830/1000 pure silver. Sterling is 925/1000.
The 3 crowns is a Swedish control mark, so this item has probably been imported to Sweden once. It looks as if the Swedish mark is stamped over another mark, maybe the makers mark?
