Help with 925 SOM silver mark on brooch

Hi everyone, does anyone know this silver mark on this brooch. It looks like SOM with 75 at the end and is marked 925. Thanks in advance for any help !

Thanks for your reply salmoned. I thought the same thing last night and looked at every site I could find to see if I could find SCM. No luck. I'm starting to think it may not be American and at different angles it looks like there might be another mark in front of the letters. Maybe a P or it could just be part of the body from the other side. Argh ! I might just fall back on dating it by its clasp and not worry about the maker. Thanks again !
