HOTCHKISS & SCHREUDER ?

Postby Alain » Wed Mar 05, 2008 6:12 am

Hello,
Can someone tell me if this is the hallmark for Hotchkiss & Schreuder?
I can still see the "H" and "S", but the middle part is rubbed away over the years.
Thank you,
Alain

Maybe. But all I see is what looks like a "G". Can you get a better angle of the hallmark?

Hi Alain,
I suspect it is European and probably German made for export. I'll leave it in this category for awhile to get further opinions.

Thanks for the photo. I'm wondering why the circles around the H and S look so crude. Is that my imagination? Do you see any evidence of a diamond shape between the circles?

I looked at it with a juwelers mag. glas.
I just can see the beginning of the diamond, pointing toward the "S".
It would be virtualy impossible to catsh that with my camera, but it is there!
Greetings,
Alain
