M&R mark on English silverplate goblet

I've done my homework, I swear! Books and websites and no clues. Has anyone identified this mark? If so, would you please let me know who, when, where, etc? Many, many thanks!!

Have not been able to confirm this, but I think that mark was used by Manoah Rhodes & Sons Ltd.
Manoah Rhodes was founded in Bradford Yorkshire in 1836.
Thomas Ackroyed Rhodes was made managing director in 1888.

They had a sterling MR (in conjoined circles) mark entered in Sheffield and London.
The firm also had an AR sterling mark (Ackroyd Rhodes ) entered in Sheffield and London.
I think your mark represents the letters AMR (Ackroyd Manoah Rhodes).

Thank you so much for your very prompt reply! I have wondered if the first part of that mark might not be an A. Do you have any idea what that guitar-looking (trefoil?) thing hanging down in the middle might be?

You're welcome.
I 'm guessing that's just a crown. The vertical line that runs through it is part of the "R".

Here is an image I found on an auction site. It is attributed to Ackroyd Rhodes.

The design of the base and cup of the trophy look very similar (to me) to those of the goblet. what do you think?

They do look similar, but I don't think that's enough to confirm your piece was made by Ackroyd Rhodes.

No, I don't suppose it is. Have you seen that treatment on the stem of the goblet anywhere else? :? Hutchy
