Makers Mark Help/2

Postby celadon » Tue Feb 19, 2008 1:34 pm

Sorry for the small photos in the previous post. First time post.

This should work better.

Need help in identifying the maker, W.

Dated London 1832. Checked Jackson and Grimwade with no success.

The letter before the 'W' appears to be an 'I'.

Hello,

Are you sure the year (and duty mark) don't correspond to 1792?

Best wishes

Mikael - the leopart head for London was crowned until 1822. This one has no crown, so post 1822. The duty mark is clear as George IV . The date is correct as stated by celadon as 1832/33.

Hi,

John Wakefield (Grimwade 1749) looks like a good match.
