Can Someone Help Me ID This Please?!

Postby rheta » Mon Feb 18, 2008 9:19 pm

Hi all, I am having no luck finding out anything about this plate. I'm not sure if it's sterling or plated and have no clue where it's from! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That's a silverplate mark used by Wallace Silversmiths.
Not sure when they used it. Could be an R. Wallace & Sons mark (1871-1856). Check here:

Thanks a lot for your help! What is the tip off that this is plated? Is it the squirrel?

Hi, I am on the same journey as you. I have almost the exact same plate as you, same Wallace and sons mark, except my number is 6404N. I wish I understood what the number represented. I am curious if it is a patent design number, or just the pattern that was produced. I will try and send a photo of the simular cut work plate

Good Luck
