Hi Could anybody help me with the maker of this spoon and the year it was made? I know it was made in London, but that is all.
Your help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,

Great spoon, it was made by Lawrence Coles, apprenticed to John Smith in 1660 and free in 1667. It was assayed in 1696/7 the last year before the compulsory Brittania Standard was enforced.

Thanks Trev.
I thought it could have been Lawrence Coles but my Jacksons hallmark book showed a different makers mark. Wouldnt it be simpler if they kept their makers mark for life? Still it adds to the fun!
Many thanks kingpin.
