Need help ID 5.25" spoon marked Pat'd STERLING

Postby mschisel » Sat Jan 19, 2008 2:28 pm

Can you help identify the maker and/or pattern of this spoon. It is marked A (icon) Pat'd STERLING. I'm not sure what the icon represents, possibly an animal head above a shield with an "s" inside the shield.

Thanks for your help.

Might be the Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co. / International Silver mark.

Pat,

Thank you for your post. I think you are correct although the mark on my piece is more stylized or streamlined than the one shown. However, it is a good starting point for me to investigate further.

Might it be Brandon?

Yes, I think you are correct, it does look like Brandon. At first I thought it might be Monticello because it is very similar, but Brandon looks exactly like my spoon. Thanks very much.
