serial number? 2387 on old silver bangle

Hi

Can anybody tell me what the number 2387 is on a vintage silver bangle?

Is it purely a serial number or patent design and if so is ther anyway of finding out more about the number?

This bangle has the 925 silver stamp and directly underneath it is stamped 2387.

Welcome to the Forum, the numbers you quote are most likely to be a pattern number and probably untracable, but with so much knowledge from all over the world on this Forum you never know, a picture, they say, is worth a thousand words.
Try posting a photograph, you may get the answer you seek.
