Date Stamp and origin of piece

Postby hoppy01 » Sun Dec 09, 2007 6:10 pm

I have a piece that I would like some help. I think it is Dublin but I can't find the date stamp in this configuration. It is a script "N" in a shield The shield's shape is is the concern. The sides of it are curved. Can't find that shape anywhere. The item seems to me to be a trophy. Can anyone confirm this?

Hello. I enhanced your picture of the marks.

On the right are Chester import marks for 1901.
The BM mark was used by Berthold Mueller, a London based importer of German & Dutch silver.

Other marks are pseudo-marks from Ludwig Neresheimer of Hanau, Germany.

thank you both!
Now what are psuedo marks?
Also can you tell me what this piece is? The figures are dressed in the style of Henry viii

Check out the glossary for info on psuedo marks:

Could be a trophy or presentation cup.
